For skill-based agents

Social media scheduling for OpenClaw

Add the Creagency skill and local MCP server so OpenClaw can list accounts, draft posts, upload media, and ask before publish.

OpenClaw supports skills and an MCP registry; Creagency supplies the social scheduling command surface.

OpenClaw launch draft
OpenClaw follows the Creagency skill rules and creates a draft from your brief.
Prompt
Use the Creagency skill to draft a LinkedIn post for this launch. First list connected accounts. Do not publish.
Scoped API key
Draft first
Confirmed publish
Quick start

Get OpenClaw working with Creagency.

Teach OpenClaw the exact Creagency social workflow.

1
Create a scoped Creagency API key
Use a key with post, asset, and integration scopes. The agent should not receive your social platform passwords.
2
Install the local tooling
Install @creagency/agent, export CREAGENCY_API_KEY, and verify the workspace with auth:status and integrations:list.
3
Install the skill into OpenClaw's skill path
Use OpenClaw's supported skill roots for custom skills, then ask OpenClaw to read the Creagency skill before any API work.
4
Add creagency-mcp to OpenClaw
Save the local stdio MCP server with openclaw mcp add, then verify the entry with status or doctor.
Setup

Use the surface that matches how OpenClaw runs.

Skill files teach the rules, CLI commands handle terminal workflows, and local stdio MCP gives supported agent clients bounded tools.

Skill
OpenClaw skills are the right place for Creagency's API rules, safety policy, and social workflow instructions.
Steps
Install the Creagency skill file in an OpenClaw-supported custom skill root.
Name the task clearly: list accounts, draft, upload media, and stop before publish.
Keep the API key in environment variables and outside channel messages.
Install Creagency skill for OpenClaw
mkdir -p ~/.agents/skills/creagency-api
curl -fsSL https://creagency.ai/.agents/skills/creagency-api/SKILL.md \
  -o ~/.agents/skills/creagency-api/SKILL.md
Open docs
CLI
Use parseable terminal commands when the agent can run local shell tools.
Steps
Install @creagency/agent globally or call it with npx.
Set CREAGENCY_API_KEY and CREAGENCY_API_ORIGIN in the shell or agent environment.
Run auth:status and integrations:list before creating a post.
Creagency CLI baseline
Start every local agent setup with an auth check and account discovery.
npm install -g @creagency/agent
export CREAGENCY_API_KEY=creagency_xxx
export CREAGENCY_API_ORIGIN=https://api.creagency.ai

creagency auth:status --json
creagency integrations:list --json

OpenClaw MCP registry
Register the local Creagency stdio server in OpenClaw-managed MCP config. Hosted remote MCP is planned as a separate OAuth-based connector. Use the local CLI and stdio MCP server today.
Steps
Use openclaw mcp add to save the server definition.
Run openclaw mcp status --verbose to inspect the saved transport.
Use doctor or probe when you need static or live validation.
OpenClaw MCP entry
openclaw mcp add creagency \
  --command npx \
  --args "-y -p @creagency/agent creagency-mcp"

openclaw mcp status --verbose
openclaw mcp doctor creagency

Examples

OpenClaw prompts you can actually use.

OpenClaw launch draft
OpenClaw follows the Creagency skill rules and creates a draft from your brief.
Prompt
Use the Creagency skill to draft a LinkedIn post for this launch. First list connected accounts. Do not publish.
Expected outcome

OpenClaw creates a draft and reports the selected account and post id.

OpenClaw media upload
The skill directs OpenClaw through signed upload, asset creation, and attachment.
Prompt
Upload ./demo.png with Creagency, attach it to a new draft, and show me the final draft summary.
Expected outcome

The image is attached to a draft without exposing upload credentials.

OpenClaw account check
Before drafting, OpenClaw confirms the workspace has the right channels connected.
Prompt
Use Creagency to list connected LinkedIn, Instagram, and Threads accounts. Stop if the requested channel is missing.
Expected outcome

The user sees available channels before any content is created.

OpenClaw publish preparation
OpenClaw prepares the risky action but does not execute it until approved.
Prompt
Prepare the latest Creagency draft for publish, show the account and final text, then wait.
Expected outcome

A publish summary is shown and OpenClaw waits for confirmation.

Safety

Keep the agent useful without handing over your channels.

Read connected accounts before creating or scheduling content.
Keep API keys in environment variables and never print them in chat.
Create drafts first when the user has not explicitly asked to schedule.
Prepare publish and delete actions before execution, then ask for confirmation.
Troubleshooting

When the first run does not work.

OpenClaw cannot see connected accounts.
Run creagency auth:status --json, then integrations:list --json. If the list is empty, connect social accounts in Creagency first.
A post command fails with a missing scope.
Create or rotate the API key with posts:read, posts:write, assets:read, assets:write, and integrations:read.
The agent tries to publish immediately.
Point it back to the skill rule: create or schedule a draft first unless the user explicitly confirms publish.
FAQ

What OpenClaw users usually ask first.

Can the agent publish without approval?
Creagency local MCP publish and delete flows are two-step. The agent prepares the action, shows the summary, and only executes after confirmation.
Is hosted remote MCP available now?
Not generally. The available path is the local CLI and stdio MCP package. Hosted remote MCP with OAuth is planned separately.
Does the agent need social account passwords?
No. Social channels connect through Creagency and platform OAuth. Agents use scoped Creagency API keys.
